Winnipeg is one of Emergent’s largest sites, with approximately 400 employees. It’s Emergent’s only site that operates through a product’s full lifecycle, from development to final delivery. Not only does the team manufacture, fill, package and inspect, it also includes essential roles ranging from analytical and process technology transfer, supply chain, clinical, pre-clinical, regulatory affairs, information technology, finance, engineering, environment, health & safety (EHS), and pharmacovigilance.
Emergent Winnipeg primarily manufactures and delivers medical countermeasures that address public health threats like anthrax, smallpox, and botulism. Our Winnipeg team also offers customized manufacturing solutions for clients through our Contract Development & Manufacturing Organization (CDMO). The site is home to state-of-the-art technology and specialized capabilities – including a robotic aseptic filling machine, as well as full operational capabilities in mRNA complex formulation and human plasma-derived and equine-plasma-derived hyperimmune.
