Emergent BioSolutions Sponsors Manufacturing Day 2022, Declaring Manufacturing Matters & Inspiring New Generation of Talent

NAM and MI Celebrate #MFGDay2022 to Give Students Inside Look at Modern Manufacturing, Emergent Leaders Tour Lansing, Michigan Manufacturing Site with Local High School Students

Washington, D.C. – Today, the National Association of Manufacturers and The Manufacturing Institute—the workforce development and education partner of the NAM—announced Emergent BioSolutions as a Platinum Sponsor of Manufacturing Day (MFG Day).

MFG Day is a call to manufacturers to open their doors and engage students and their communities, helping to build the next generation of the modern manufacturing workforce. With more than 795,000 jobs open in manufacturing today, it has never been more important to bring this message to communities across the United States.

“Every year hundreds of companies from around the country help us celebrate MFG Day as we work to inspire, educate and empower the next generation of manufacturing workers,” said NAM President and CEO and MI Chairman of the Board Jay Timmons. “Having partners helps us spread the word that creators are wanted and there is a job waiting for you in modern manufacturing.”

“MFG Day aims to change the narrative around modern manufacturing and the careers available today,” said MI President Carolyn Lee. “There are hundreds of thousands of jobs available, but too many people don’t know about the incredible opportunities for meaningful, well-paying careers in this innovative industry. That’s why we’re working year-round to engage the future of our workforce—America’s students—to show them what’s available today in their own backyards.”

“At Emergent, we believe that manufacturing matters—not only in service to our product portfolio of products and services—but for the many strategic alliances and contract development and manufacturing customers that we work with,” declared Dino Muzzin, Emergent’s senior vice president, manufacturing operations. “We are proud to be a sponsor of the National Association of Manufacturers’ Manufacturing Day in partnership with the Manufacturing Institute to reinforce the impact of this core capability within the biopharmaceutical industry and to celebrate manufacturing excellence among the leaders today and future talent to come.”
