Emergent and Panther Racing Support
National Guard and Hiring Our Heroes

For the second year, Emergent BioSolutions proudly teamed up with Panther Racing, the National Guard, and the USO, in supporting Baltimore race events for our military. Panther Racing, owner of the National Guard car, aligns itself with companies and organizations that help support service men and women, and their families, across the nation.

Emergent sponsored “Hiring Our Heroes” events in Baltimore. Hiring Our Heroes is a nationwide effort to fight the unemployment crisis among American military and veterans and help them find meaningful employment supported by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, the White House, the National Guard and Panther Racing.

"The work being done by the National Guard, those who support them, and the Hiring Our Heroes program is noble and truly inspiring and will hopefully have a lasting impact for our service men and women,” said Daniel J. Abdun-Nabi, President and Chief Executive Officer of Emergent BioSolutions. “At the heart of our corporate mission – to protect and enhance life – is to protect those who serve, and we take this opportunity to support and thank our servicemen and women for their bravery and service to our country."

For its part, Emergent has developed a National Guard job training program to prepare interested veterans for jobs in the biopharmaceutical industry. The program is being implemented first at Emergent’s Seattle location.

In addition to Hiring Our Heroes, Emergent BioSolutions sponsored a National Guard “race day” at Fort Meade, a Walter Reed event for wounded warriors and the National Guard Youth Cadets event in Baltimore.
